We at OHI Studio take privacy seriously and want to be straightforward about what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
We are OHI STUDIO LTD - Company No 15843016 - registered in the United Kingdom, with our registered address at: c/o West & Berry, Nile House, Nile Street, Brighton, United Kingdom, BN1 1HW. We develop and publish mixed reality games, virtual reality games, and wearable applications available via partner app stores. This policy covers personal information we collect through our website (ohi.studio) and our apps published on partner platforms (together, our "Services"). By using our Services, you agree to this policy.
As a UK-based company, we process your data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where we collect and use your data, we do so on the basis of legitimate interests (for example, to improve our products and respond to enquiries), legal compliance, or — where relevant — your consent.
Account and contact information. If you register for our apps or services, we may collect your user ID, email address, and basic profile information.
Age category information. For apps on Meta Quest, Meta provides us with an age category — child (10–12), teen (13–17), or adult (18+) — so we can make sure the content you see is appropriate for you. We receive only the category, not your exact age or date of birth.
Usage and technical data. When you use our website or apps, we may collect information like your IP address, device type, and operating system. This helps us understand how our products are performing and where to improve them.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics on our website, which uses cookies to collect anonymised data about how visitors use the site — pages visited, time spent, general location, and so on. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We also collect in-app analytics through partner platforms (such as session length, install data, and daily/monthly active users) to understand how our games are being played.
Newsletter. Our newsletter is hosted on Substack. If you subscribe, Substack collects and stores your email address under their own privacy policy. We use Substack only to send the newsletter and do not have access to any additional data about you beyond your subscription status.
We use the information we collect to run and improve our apps and website, to respond to your questions or requests, to make sure younger users see age-appropriate content, and to meet our legal obligations. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it.
We don't share your information with third parties except in the following cases:
Service providers. We work with a small number of trusted third-party providers (such as analytics and hosting services) who help us run our products. They are only given the data they need and are required to keep it secure.
Platform providers. Our apps are distributed through platforms like Meta Quest and Snap Spectacles. These platforms may share certain data with us (like the age category information described above) to help us comply with their policies.
Legal requirements. If we're required by law to share information — for example, in response to a court order — we will do so.
We do not share your data for marketing purposes or sell it to anyone.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 10. For users aged 10–12 on Meta Quest, we receive only age category information from Meta and ensure those users only access age-appropriate content. Children aged 10–12 will not have access to certain social features in our apps, in line with Meta Quest policies and COPPA requirements. We do not collect, use, or share personal information from under-13s beyond what is permitted by COPPA and applicable platform policies.
Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — primarily through Google Analytics. These help us understand how people use our site so we can improve it. We do not use cookies for advertising or to track you across other websites. If you'd prefer not to be tracked, you can disable cookies in your browser settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out linked above.
We only keep your information for as long as we need it — either to provide the service you've signed up for, or as required by law. If you'd like us to delete your data, just email us at hello@ohi.studio and we'll take care of it promptly.
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to how we're using it, and to ask us to restrict our use of it in certain circumstances. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@ohi.studio. We'll verify your identity before making any changes, and we'll respond within 30 days.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access or misuse. That said, no system is completely immune — if you have concerns, please get in touch.
If you no longer want to receive communications from us, email hello@ohi.studio and we'll remove you straight away.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top. Continuing to use our Services after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you're welcome to email us at hello@ohi.studio.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
