Glossa is a mixed-reality interactive story that helps you learn a language from the world around you. Instead of flashcards, it uses the objects in your own surroundings, from the mug on your desk to the plant by the window, so new words stick to things you see every day. You play a rookie detective working international cases with Lieutenant Marlowe, a world-weary investigator back at the precinct. Marlowe can see through your camera, but he can’t read the labels and evidence in front of you. Your job is to translate everything for him.
Each case is a complete noir mystery, with suspects, red herrings and a twist at the end. Cases take you from the galleries of Paris to the port of Marseille and the piazzas of Naples, and the stories begin to connect as you play, with familiar characters reappearing from one case to the next.
Each day opens with a new chapter of the case from Marlowe. Then he needs your help. Scan your surroundings and Glossa, powered by Google’s Gemini, finds five objects or colors and labels each one in French, Spanish or Italian. Say each word aloud and Glossa checks your pronunciation. Get all five and Marlowe closes the day’s chapter. What you find feeds the investigation. What you learn stays with you.
Over two weeks of daily sessions, the full case unfolds, told in Marlowe’s voice, brought to life by Gemini. Between sessions, revisit your evidence locker to practice every word you’ve collected.
